Cause for Concern?

A few weeks ago I blogged about how I was getting Braxton-Hicks contractions. Last night I was getting contractions, except this time there was discomfort involved and they came more regularly then a Braxton-Hicks contraction.

In my heart I knew I was ok, but my mind was telling me that the right thing to do would be to call my doctor. I had a scheduled appointment at 9 this morning, so I decided to just wait it out and go to my scheduled appointment.

When I spoke to my doctor he told me that a contraction is a contraction, it doesn't matter. If they come more than five times in an hour I should drink a lot of water and put my feet up. If they persist into the next hour I should call him and then he would meet me in the hospital to monitor the contractions.

As I sat there talking to him I got a contraction. I made him feel my stomach and he said, "yep, that's a contraction."

My doctor explained to me that having a baby at 33 weeks, 5 days is not something I would want to do. There could be issues involved with feeding, regulating body temperature. At 35 weeks it would be a different story.

I left the office praying to God this little guy stays inside until October 3rd. When I got home I drank and drank and drank more and more water!

Felt fine ever since!

My doctor does want to see me again on Tuesday to check up on me! I love how he is very thorough and doesn't take anything lightly! He's great!
